Step 6 worksheet — becoming ready to let it go

Step 6 asks whether you are entirely ready to have the patterns you found in Step 4 removed — including the ones that have been useful to you.

Step 6 sounds passive and is not. The work is noticing that some of these traits have been paying you — in protection, in attention, in being right — and that you would miss them.

Free, no email needed. Your browser can also save it as a PDF.

What came up again and again in Step 4

Read your inventory back and look for the pattern rather than the incidents.

The patternWhere it showed upWhat it has done for meWhat it has cost me

The ones I am not ready to hand over

Naming these is the step. Pretending you are ready when you are not just moves the problem to Step 10.

Which of these do I secretly want to keep?

What do I get from it?

What would I need to believe to become willing?

Before you put this away

A worksheet is a way to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper. It is not the step. Step 6 is worked with a sponsor, a counselor, or someone else who has done it — they will see things in these pages that you cannot see yourself.

Who am I going to show this to, and when?

What did I leave off these pages because I did not want to write it down?

Want all twelve sheets emailed to you?

The worksheet above is free and yours to print right now — you do not need this. But if you would rather work the steps from your inbox, we will send the full set of twelve.

We will not call or text you about this, and we do not share your address. Downloading a worksheet tells us nothing about you medically and is not treated as a request for treatment.
